Review of JVC TK-C2301WPRE CCTV Dome Camera

JVC’s new day/night TK-C2301WPRE CCTV dome camera coming with14-T5-TK-C2301-mainbit second generation DSP and featuring industry-leading S/N ratio of 52 dB and glare-free IR imaging up to a distance of 5m puts everything you’d want from a surveillance camera into a stylish design. The processor implements various technologies that can improve the quality of video of the camera in various light conditions. So, to send a high-contrast video in low light, such as at dusk, TK-C2301WPRE uses proprietary Super LoLux technology  which retains the color of objects of observation, while the other analogues are no longer able to distinguish between them.

To work in a wide range of lighting conditions the new JVC cameras have a day/night feature, which is implemented in hardware and provides detailed video footage in color black and white up to 0.05 / 0.006 lx (50%, F1, 2). For the 27/7 video operation (including in the dark) the camera’s equipped with LED IR illuminator with a range of lights up to 20 meters, which is configured  not to have an effect of exposure when people approach within 5 meters both in the process of monitoring and viewing recorded video they can be easily identified.

The standards of TK-C2301WPRE  generally meet or exceed the requirements of most international standards such as IP66, and stably operates at temperatures from -10 ° to +50 ° C, and set to cover the optional heater operating temperature chamber up to -30 ° C. Besides, the case of the camera has high strengths and protects the electronics and lens from willful mechanical effects. In addition, TK-C2301WPRE consumes not much power, saving up to 40% and providing continuous monitoring of up to 93 000 hours.

Built-in varifocal lens allows the camera to choose the focal lengths in the range of 2.8 (F1.2) ~ 10.5 (F3.6) mm and angles from 100 ° to 24 °, and adjust its focus either electronically or manually. Electronically - Focus Adjustment Mode - the lens aperture fully opens for 30 seconds, during which the CCTV Dome camera  is being focused temporarily reducing the depth of field. To adjust the lens manually in a correct way TK-C2301WPRE uses a proprietary mechanism JVC Fine Focus Adjustment, which provides the observation of objects with specific lighting.

The most advanced  dynamic range ExDR Plus (Extended Dynamic Range)function implemented in the TK-C2301WPRE will form a detailed video with backlight, which can occur when using the camera in front of windows, glass doors, etc. Moreover, when combined ExDR Plus, and AGC (Automatic Gain Control) the camera provides a clear view of the individual parts across the frame. Also the new cameras include three-dimensional noise filter 3D DNR and effectively remove noise and artifacts in the image, tire the eyes of the operator monitoring system and impair the quality of the video.

As the security industry moves into a world of high definition imaging, JVC  is at the leading edge of this transition with high resolution IP-based video surveillance solutions. From Super LoLux HD cameras to high quality professional monitors, JVC continues to deliver products with exceptional power, performance and reliability.

Surveillance Cameras Can Pick Out Drunks

drinking-beerRecently it was announced that in Greece they will soon have surveillance cameras not just for observation, but also for picking drunk people out of a crowd. As the authors are reporting their main goal is to improve the security of airports, supermarkets, sports events and crowded areas. Georgia Koukiou and Vassilis Anastassopoulos, from the University of Patras in Greece also suggest the system could be used to stop the police or officials making mistakes based on ill-founded assumptions based on someone's appearance or behavior.
The new development of Greek scholars works in two days. First, the camera measures the color of a human face and as alcohol causes blood vessel dilation at the skin's surface, it will spot individual pixel-width differences by comparing different spots on the face.
Additionally, as a fact the temperature of dunk’s noise is warmer, while their foreheads remain relatively cool. The camera therefore utilizes thermal imaging technology to measure the temperature of an individual’s nose and forehead.

The scientists believe that combining two computer formulas in conjunction with camera can accurately detect drunk people in public areas and make actions, before the trouble occurs.

Maspro Home Security Camera For Tracking To Your Pets

Maspro Japanese electronics manufacturer is the author of this new home security camera which allows you to track your pets or family members via  PC or smartphone. The camera is equipped with wide-angle lens (110 degrees), so that placing it in the corner of the room, you can monitor the entire room.
Maspro home security camera
The main advantage that makes Maspro security camera unique is the optimized function of digital zoom- a smooth special algorithm that detects moving objects in the frame and keeps tracking their movements. The role of the ‘’objects’’ can take pets, children or elderly, in other words, those to whom you need to watch over. In case there are more than one objects appearing in the view of the frame, the software allows you to switch between them pressing «Change Subject».

In addition to motion, the system can also monitor noise level and room temperature. The corresponding graphs are stored for up to 24 hours. Users can also be notified instantly of any hazards by specifying areas or values which will indicate danger. Which means, for example, users can set the system to notify them by email if there has been no movement at all for three hours.
The approximate price of this home surveillance camera from Maspro is expected to be 450 U.S. dollars.

Rotundus GroundBot: Mobile Surveillance Robot From The Future

A Sweden company Rotundus is the author of the GroundBot robot, whichGroundBot Mobile Surveillance Robot from the first look may be very similar to  the main character of an East Slavic national fairy tale- Kolobok. In reality this is a very sophisticated robot-guard which is designed to observe considerable territories. Unlike any other mobile robots on the market - GroundBot was originally designed to explore other planets. In other words, the nearest helping hand would have been millions of miles away thanks to its high speed working engine(10km/h).
The developers have made also their offspring to be waterproof and with large passability features. GroundBot is moving through the center of gravity in a certain direction. The device can move both on the snow, the sand and the dirt road: it is even able to swim. There is only one NO for Rotundus mobile surveillance device, if  it falls in the mud, its camera becomes "blinded", despite its good permeability.
Thanks to its GPS-module the robot-guard can also move in the space. The guard is adopted to work not just in an offline mode, but also provided with manual control. The batteries of this high-tech guard are very capacious, and power consumption has been reduced by several times. As a result of it, a single charge provides up to 18 hours of continuous operation (just working, not a stand-by mode). The robot comes with two in-built video cameras for capturing larger images.
In conclusion this is a very perfect device for surveillance. Just a little weapon  in the ‘’hands’’ and it could place to a real guard, although developers still have chances to make changes to their modern offspring.

The Best Place To Position Your CCTV Camera

The Best Place To Position Your CCTV CameraBesides the quality of your CCTV camera and the proper installation of it, the third point that you should always keep in your mind is the careful placement of  it to ensure the full fledged surveillance of your home or office!
There are a few things you should always consider before positioning your CCTV camera.

1. Cover the whole area
Whether  it is your garage or your home try to cover its area as much as possible. The main reason  for this is to track the situation and just a little front pathway catch the head height as they approach.

2. Position your camera outside your property
Putting your security cameras outside of your property can have 2 benefits for you. The first is that it can give you advanced warning of people trying to break in, and the second is that it will allow you to catch them leaving where they might drop their guard.

3. Keep them high up
In order to preventing your cameras stolen, vandalized or covered over try to position them in high places. Don’t forget, please about your safety when doing this and try to do it not alone. In this case it’s good also to learn more about CCTV laws and regulations as in many countries it is illegal to capture your neighbors.

4. Hidden or on display?
Many people ask me whether they should have their cameras hidden or clearly on display. My answer is both.  By keeping it in obvious places you will be able to hopefully deter criminal activity as people realize they can get caught, however by hiding the cameras they are less likely to be tampered with and you are more likely to appoint unwanted activities in action which can be useful for a court case theoretically.

This are the main types to find the best place to position your CCTV cameras. Don’t forget also this might vary depending on the property, and  experimenting with various layouts can find a good solution for you as well.

Tips To Select Your CCTV Cables

cctv cameraWhen installing your CCTV camera system complete with runs of cables for your video and power signals, it’s very important to be informed about CCTV cable types before purchasing them. These tips of  selecting CCTV cables will help you understand the necessity of buying CCTV cables as well as effectively choose the best option based on your needs.

Fire Codes and CCTV Cables
If you live in an area which supports return air flow in the ventilation; then you obviously will need to use a plenum rated CCTV cable. Areas that support return air flow are usually the locations that are used for heating and air conditioning. As you know it’s a vital part of the system as it is where the air from the supply registers goes. If your place doesn’t support return air flow, anyway a customary  PVC coaxial CCTV wire is also acceptable.

CCTV Cable Distances
The distance of CCTV cables is another important thing to determine, before you go about purchasing. The importance of this is consisted in degradation and failing of your signals in case of further distances depended on some type of cables.
If you are going to be installing your system with a max of 600ft - 800ft in between devices; then a standard RG59 coaxial cable should be the proper option to buy. For further distances you may think about upgrading to a RG6 cable then.

Check What Your CCTV Cameras Use

Standard Composite Video CCTV Cameras
Practically standard CCTV cameras use an analog composite video signal of 1V peak to peak (NOT RF) and it’s very important to keep in mind, as a RF signal uses aluminum coax to send the signal to your receivers or TV system. That’s why it’s required always use a copper braid / copper core coax for your composite video coming out of your security cameras. It’s advised  possible choose a coaxial CCTV cable with a 95% braid and a SOLID copper core.

Network Cameras
In case of network cameras coaxial CCTV cables actually are not needed and they will use network Ethernet cable such as CAT 3, CAT 5, CAT 6, etc... The cables are commonly connected using punch down blocks and modular connectors and  include some plenum and non plenum ratings as composite coaxial ones do.
To conclude, these were the details what you should consider and make a smarter and knowledgeable decision before purchasing your CCTV cables.

The Advantages of Megapixel IP Cameras

The demand of Megapixel IP Cameras has been  increased since the first time they were manufactured, therefore  the prices of these type of AV1300M security cameras are eventually going to be lower and the use is growing. Megapixel IP and  standard IP cameras have some underlined differences when they are explored separately. IP cameras are generally the same resolution as an analog camera with a built-in video encoder to convert the analog signal into an IP address. Hybrid CCTV Solutions, a mixture of analog and IP/megapixel cameras have been becoming more popular since existing CCTV infrastructures could be tied in using one NVR/Software interface. Megapixel IP Cameras are powered with the ability to record a minute and accurate image display, which can be monitored remotely by authorized recruits, who are permitted to watch and observe the recorded material.  The advantages of this technology is quickly being felt within the market.

High-definition (HD) or Megapixel (MP) IP cameras are now available that offer a huge jump in image quality compared to conventional surveillance cameras. Resolutions are available as 1.3,2,3,5,8 and up to 16 megapixels (16 megapixels, 4872x3248 pixels, in resolution contains over 50 times more detail than images captured with conventional surveillance systems). A standard IP camera or analog cameras are 640X480 resolution (0.307 megapixels) cameras, that would only be able to view the image and would then need to be zoomed in telescopically via PTZ to view the detail loosing the rest of the picture that is out of view.
With Megapixel cameras, forensic zooming can be capable while its simultaneously recording onto the NVR (network video recorder) server as the whole picture and vice versa by watching recorded video while forensic zooming on the desired view. The ability to capture not only situation awareness the big picture of what is going on but also fine details that can be used for license plate reading and identifying people. The combination of situational awareness and detail allows security operators to react faster and reduce investigation time, all with a higher probability of prosecution and conviction. Trying to achieve this with an analog camera would not be possible as 0.3 megapixel would simply not be enough pixel resolution to  achieve this. New HD surveillance solutions that preserve image quality are transforming the surveillance industry. Megapixel IP cameras are available  from Sony, Axis, IQinvision, Vivotek, Panasonic, Brickcom and other major manufacturers that provide very good performance.

Megapixel IP cameras can be  used as surveillance camera systems for your stadiums, airports, train stations, university campuses as well as your company.

Garage Security- 5 Typs To Help You Prevent Break-ins

As I noted on previous article- ‘’Where Do Thieves Break Into Houses’’, statistics show that homebreakings through garage doors make up 9%. 0021-garage-photo-new Gaining entry into homes through  open garage doors is being the quickest and simplest way for most burglars.Garages are considering one of the favorite targets for thieves, because they contain such valuables as cars, bicycles, and tools that are easy to fence. FBI, local Sheriff/Police data and Department of Justice Statistics every year report thousands of garages burglarized.
In this article I’m not going to tell you to keep your garage door shut all time. I  simply advice you to  take certain actions to assure it’s safe for intruder to gain access to your garage when you are not around. Let’s take a look at these  types you can do to add  the security of your garage.

1) The easiest place for thieves to gain entry to your garage is a window. Very often they are placed on the side or around the back where thieves can work undetected. With a very low budget you can add additional locks and reinforced glass on your garage windows making them much harder to be broken.

2) Don’t forget to lock the door into your home from the garage. Even after long  day don’t be lazy to create one more step  to increase your garage security. Don’t forget that nearly 1 in 10 home burglaries are made through garage doors! Installing a Anti-Kick device  and having a wide-angle peephole in the door between your house and your garage will  help you check your garage security easier.

3) Even if your garage is separated from your home, it is important for you to secure it so that robbers will stay out of it. If your garage door uses a track to lift, then you can tighten a C-clamp on the track that is near the roller. The door cannot be opened until you take off the C-clamp.

4) For automatic garage door owners there are new generation automatic garage door openers which have undergone a lot of development since the early models. New gneretaion models of automated garage door openers make it much more harder for intruders to break the code of used to unlock automatic garage doors. So consider  to upgrade it now if you use an old model!

5) The 5th most important type that most garage owners don’t pay an attention. Always treat your garage door remote control like a key. Don’t leave it in your car where it can be seen - hide it in the console, glove box or somewhere else in your car, but don't leave it on the visor where it can be seen. Never leave it in an unlocked vehicle as this could result in your car and home property being stolen.

Where Do Thieves Break Into Houses?

Every 8 seconds a residential home is burglarized in North America,  and the chance of average homeowner to be burglarized is 1in 6. But how home burglary statisticsdo thieves most often gain access to a home? Where do they break into houses?

Many people are surprised at this statistic but yes, the front door is the typical entry point. The most- 34% of home breakings are usually perpetrated kicking in or forcing open the front door. It is important to invest in a front door that is made up of superior wood, fiber glass or metal.

The second on the list are, unfortunately, the first door windows (23%). What is the shocking part with this, is that many homeowners leave them open or unlocked when leaving the home and  thieves gain access through unlocked windows!

The back door is another popular entrance for a burglar who wants  to stay hidden and have easy access in and out of the house. The back doors are usually off cover from witnesses and let them go about their business undetected. According to statistics, 22% of home breaks are made through back doors.

Whether you live in a garage-attached house or no, some burglars will use your own tools to break into your house! Make sure the door from your garage into your house is as secure as your front door. Don’t forget to add security camera systems to your garage and monitor it as well. Homebreakings through garage make up 9% by statistics.

Homebreakings through basements are very low (4%) as show the statistics. The reason is the lack of basements in many areas, for example in Florida and California. However, don’t forget to pay attention to your basement’s security as well.

Roof, storage and unlocked areas make up the final 6%. Average loss per burglary costs %1,725, most burglars occur between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.,  and the they spend  an average of 8 to 12 minutes to your home- these are another burglary statistics tracked by The Uniform Crime Reporting Program. Be attentive!

How To Set Up Your Own Home Video Surveillance?

Every 15 seconds a home is burgled, making a home surveillance system is a great way to prevent this crime fromhome surveillance happening to you. Setting up your own home video surveillance has become now  easier and cheaper to do because of new advances in technology. With these advanced security systems, you are able to  track down suspicious movements around your vicinity, ideally monitor your pets at home, or the front door, garage and  bedroom while you are away at work or on vacation. CCTV video cameras are very simple and easy to operate.
The first thing you need to do for setting up your own home video surveillance is install contacts into your home. Think where would the best place to break in be and what is valuable for you to monitor. Home installations should focus on gathering areas and areas that are valuable to kept, while retail installations require to secure cash registers, near exit areas and in aisles.
The second thing is to decide what type of system du you need. Wired or cabled systems can be connected to other security devices, while wireless systems need to be "detected" by either TVs or computers and then recorded. When selecting wireless cameras make sure the signal is clear and steady: some  require that you tune to a specific channel on a TV, others use HomePlug or wireless network to connect with computers.
The third thing to do are various settings you can give your hidden cameras. They can record 24/7 or they can only record when notified by a motion sensor. Security cameras are also popular in commercial settings, where business owners use them to capture the behavior of customers and employees. They also come with monitoring and management software that lets you trigger alarms and e-mail alerts when certain events occur.  Before buying your home surveillance system, just let the company know your needs.
The latest step. Each camera needs to be set to its own channel. Set up surveillance in any room that contains valuables and external camera positions that face outward and allow you to see who is approaching the home.Check and test if your camera system works properly.  Don’t forget also to give your cameras names such as "Living Room" and "Bedroom" or "Camera 1, 2 and 3."
The whole process setting up a wireless home security camera system is frankly not that difficult and can be done in under one hour.

How to choose a CCTV camera lens?

When installing a CCTV camera system for your home or office, it is  very important cctv camera lensto choose the right lens for your CCTV camera. The camera’s lens determines how much the camera covers, how clearly you can see the area you’re monitoring, and how much light enters the camera. Here are a few things you must consider before buying a CCTV camera lens:
Focal Length
The focal length of a CCTV camera lens determines its angle of view and how far the camera can see measured in mm.The bigger the focal length, the narrower the field of view-that is, the more you zoom, the less area you see, and vice versa. Focal length of most CCTV camera lenses vary from 3.6mm to 16mm for fixed focal length lenses, to well over 70mm for zoom lenses.
Depth of Field
Depth of field is the amount of distance between the nearest and farthest objects that appear in  focus.A large depth of field means almost all objects  in the field of view are in focus and the vice versa-a small depth of field means only a small section of objects in the field of view are  in focus. The depth of field (DoF) of a CCTV camera lens is influenced by several factors. Wide angle lenses usually have a large depth of field than  telephoto lens, and a higher F stop setting as a rule  has a larger depth of field than a lower setting. The small depth of field is most apparent at night when the lens iris diaphragm is fully open and the depth of field is at its minimum.
The Iris of CCTV lenses
The Iris of a lens is another important detail to check before buying a CCTV camera lens. Most modern camera today use a type of  adjustable diaphragm known as an iris diaphragm, and often referred to simply as an iris. The Iris of a CCTV camera is either auto or manual. “Auto-iris’’ types of CCTV lenses  have a lead that connects to the camera itself, and provides the camera with the ability to let in more light in dark conditions, and less in bright conditions. This helps avoid the common problem of "sunrise glare", where the rising sun shines directly into the camera, completely blinding the camera's view. Auto-iris lenses come in Video or DC, and cameras generally support one format or the other. Those users who wish to use CCTV camera in an area (usually indoor areas)  that experiences infrequent changes in light, can use a manual iris lens, which is adjusted for light only by hand.
Here are the things you must consider before selecting the CCTV lens. Always check the lens and camera before buying both.

What is the difference between infrared CCTV CCTV cameras and CCD cameras?

A CCD (charge couple device) is a device for the movement of electrical charge usually from within the device to an PL0035-2-SONY-CCD-Lens-CCTV area where the charge can be manipulated, for example conversion into a digital value. CCD is the heart of a CCTV (Closed Circuit TV) camera and is widely used in professional, medical, and scientific applications where high-quality image data are required. The difference between CCTV cameras with CCD camera is significant- as noted in our other posts infrared CCTV cameras can be used in the dark even though there is no light and able to capture images and videos, while the CCD camera can only work in the light and not able to capture images and record video  in the dark.
Despite the difference between CCTV camera and charge coupled devices in darkness, the advantage is on the CCD camera to record clear and bright video, besides CCD camera can be changed depending on the lens  when they are used for security systems. They commonly respond to 70% of the Incident light (meaning a quantum efficiency of about 70%,) making them more efficient than photographic film, which captures only about 2% of the incident light. When comparing the prices CCD cameras used to be relatively inexpensive and well suited for most indoor needs, while CCTV cameras  are used usually for outdoor  experiences and are more expensive.
The differences and advantages are here and the choice is yours based from criteria wheter you want to use either area who want to install CCTV in an area of darkness in the evening or at night lighting available area.

How to choose the right camera your for DVR Surveillance System?

Most types of cameras are using the same video chip. The difference between the types of cameras is only the CCTV-Camera-Remotely-Monitored-300x300 housing, the lens, and the power it requires to operate. Choosing the right camera for DVR  is a complicated process. There are 6 types of camera styles: bullet camera, infrared cameras, dome cameras, C-Mount cameras, hidden cameras, and PTZ-cameras. This guide  will introduce each type of camera, as well will provide links to a detailed analysis of each type of CCTV camera.
Bullet Cameras
Bullet security cameras are  small, lightweight and  very adaptive security cameras. Featuring interchangeable  lenses that can easily adapt to any situation, bullet cameras are often considered as masters of all trades. They can stand at some extreme conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and even hurricane conditions, and therefore are often used outside.Bullet security cameras are always a good choice as they can be used in almost, any situation, and the bullet chamber is often the most economical purchase.
Infrared Security Cameras
Infrared security cameras measure infrared radiation, that allows them to capture video in complete darkness. This is the same technology used in night version stars.Infrared security cameras change the infrared part of the black and white images An infrared camera can be used only in the evening as the sunlight will wash out  sensor capable of storing heat.Infrared security cameras and infrared technology usually are  not  used near reflective surfaces, such as, windows, fishtanks, furniture, doors, spray, and even some interior paint gloss.
Dome Security Cameras
Dome security cameras are usually mounting from the ceiling.  These are very low cost, tamper proof security cameras with power shields, and are usually installed inside. Their small size restricts their zoom capabilities, so you can’t expect from  dome cameras to capture clear videos from 300 feet. Dome security camera systems are very versatile, with vandal-proof, weatherproof, day/night, and various combinations readily available and are used in medical offices, hospitals, fast food chains, and other small offices.
C-Mount Cameras
C-Mount security cameras are known as the first security cameras invented. Modern cameras and lenses are generally CS mount rather than C mount. The advantage to a c-mount camera is that the lens can be changed. If you need to see further than 35 or 40 ft then you'll need a c-mount camera with a special lens. C-Mount lenses are available from 4mm to 50mm. C-mount cameras are used essentially in large businesses such as  government buildings and banks.
Hidden cameras
Hidden or spy cameras are cameras designed designed to film people without their knowledge. The camera is "hidden" because it is either not visible to the subject being filmed, or is disguised as another object.Hidden cameras are sometimes look like another product such as a clock, air freshener, or other objects.
PTZ Security Cameras
PTZ stands for Pan, Tilt, and Zoom. These security cameras allow users to remotely control them by software or a joystick, and  move them left to right, up and down, and zoom in and out.
PTZ security cameras offer the ability to point the camera's viewing area to a specific action and can clearly capture licenses, plates and faces from over 900 feet away.PTZ domes also come in a variety of configurations, including weatherproof and day/night versions.

What is CCTV and how it is used to obtain surveillance?

CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) is a visual surveillance technology designed for monitoring a variety of environments and activities. CCTV camera systems have become significant factor in preventing crime and indentifying people who are occupied with the area.Whether for school and college security, shopping mall security, construction site security or any government and private company security CCTV allows you to see what is going on there. Many businesses such as railway stations, factories, multi-stored shops as well as homes and garages are now covered by surveillance camera systems involving a linked system of cameras. Nowadays there  are many types of video surveillance systems on the market, and each   perform many other different roles and functions, depending on their application. The report - which looked at evaluations of 22 CCTV schemes in Britain and the US - found that while cameras could have a marked effect on reducing vehicle crime, there was little evidence they prevented violent crime. This technology you have bought for your business not only allows you to catch perpetrators and to aid the police, but also watch over your stuff and check how the business runs from a third party perspective. What makes CCTV camera to be more attractive for you, is its work like a human eye. More developed versions are cuoming market growing extra highly beneficial and also humanitarian use of CCTV cameras.
