Recently it was announced that in Greece they will soon have surveillance cameras not just for observation, but also for picking drunk people out of a crowd. As the authors are reporting their main goal is to improve the security of airports, supermarkets, sports events and crowded areas. Georgia Koukiou and Vassilis Anastassopoulos, from the University of Patras in Greece also suggest the system could be used to stop the police or officials making mistakes based on ill-founded assumptions based on someone's appearance or behavior.
The new development of Greek scholars works in two days. First, the camera measures the color of a human face and as alcohol causes blood vessel dilation at the skin's surface, it will spot individual pixel-width differences by comparing different spots on the face.
Additionally, as a fact the temperature of dunk’s noise is warmer, while their foreheads remain relatively cool. The camera therefore utilizes thermal imaging technology to measure the temperature of an individual’s nose and forehead.
The scientists believe that combining two computer formulas in conjunction with camera can accurately detect drunk people in public areas and make actions, before the trouble occurs.
